Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking an Associate Counselor to support assessment, treatment planning, and counseling for clients in SUD and mental health services. Under supervision, you will assist with screenings, treatment planning, and individual/group counseling to promote recovery and healthier decision-making.

The position requires Missouri licensure eligibility (MADC 1 & 2, CADC, CRADC) or trainee status under supervision, with training plans and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Missouri requirements: Associate’s degree or high school diploma/equivalent.
• A trainee meeting registration, supervision and professional development requirements per Missouri Credentialing Board or appropriate board.
• Associate Counselors must be supervised by a Qualified Addiction Professional with Clinical Supervision Training.

Responsibilities

• Participate in screening and assessment under supervision.
• Collaborate in development of treatment plans with ongoing updates.
• Complete all services documentation in a timely manner and in compliance with regulations.
• Attend clinical staffing/team meetings and contribute to treatment planning discussions.
• Facilitate group counseling sessions, education, and individual counseling.
• Maintain positive professional relationships with referrals, clients, and coworkers.
• Handle crisis situations per agency policies and notify supervisors as needed.
• Support long-term and short-term goals of the organization.
• Complete annual training as specified in training plans.
