Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Part-time Associate Counselor in Poplar Bluff, MO, to assist in screening, assessment, and treatment planning under supervision. You will participate in team meetings, document care, and support client transitions in alignment with ASAM standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or high school diploma/equivalent required.
  • Must be a trainee meeting registration and supervision requirements as set by the Missouri Credentialing Board or the appropriate state board.
  • Must be supervised by a Qualified Addiction Professional who has completed supervision training.
  • Must have a current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications required within three months of employment.
  • Annual 50-hour training requirement (Missouri only).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the screening and assessment process under supervision.
  • Develop treatment plans for clients based on assessment data, under supervision.
  • Participate in clinical staffing and team meetings, offering feedback on cases.
  • Document services provided in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist with client transitions and discharge summaries; countersigned by a Qualified Addiction Professional.
  • Facilitate group counseling, education sessions, and individual sessions.

This role is designed to provide ample learning and professional growth opportunities for individuals starting their careers in the addiction treatment field.This position offers….Employee Assistance Program – 24/7 counseling services, legal assistance, & financial consultation for you and your household at no costMileage Reimbursement – Company paid for work functions requiring travelEmployee Discounts – Hotels, Theme Parks & Attractions, College TuitionWorkplace Culture - An environment cultivating employee wellbeing, valuing each individual's humanity, and actively promoting a healthy, joyful workforce.Additional Perks & Benefits - Scroll down to bottom of this post to learn moreKey Responsibilities:· Assist in the screening and assessment process under the supervision of a licensed/qualified counselor or therapist.· Develop treatment plans for clients based on assessment data, under supervision.· Participate in clinical staffing and team meetings, offering feedback on pertinent cases.· Adhere to Collaborative Service Goal (CSG) expectations and provide direct services accordingly.· Document services provided in accordance with regulatory standards, ensuring timely entries and proper references to treatment plans.· Ensure that treatment plans and discharge summaries are reviewed and countersigned by a Qualified Addiction Professional.· Assist with client transitions, completing necessary correspondence.· Complete required annual training in compliance with ASAM standards.· Maintain positive professional relationships with clients, referral sources, and coworkers.· Handle crisis situations as they arise, notifying supervisors as required.· Facilitate group counseling, education sessions, family conferences, and individual sessions.· Demonstrate a commitment to both short-term and long-term company goals.Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:· Associate’s degree or high school diploma/equivalent required.· Must be a trainee meeting registration and supervision requirements as set by the Missouri Credentialing Board or the appropriate state board of professional registration.· Must be supervised by a Qualified Addiction Professional who has completed MCB Clinical Supervision Training.Additional Qualifications:· Must have a current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance.· First Aid and CPR certifications required within three months of employment.· Behavioral Management and Crisis Management training required within thirty (30) days of employment.· Must complete the annual 50-hour training requirement (Missouri Only).Physical Requirements:· Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects.· Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing.As a behavioral and community mental health provider, we prioritize fostering a culture of belonging and connection within our workforce.
