Job summary

Centerstone is seeking an Associate Counselor in Poplar Bluff, MO to support Recovery Services. The role involves assisting with screening, assessment, and treatment planning under supervision by a Qualified Addiction Professional.

You will participate in clinical meetings, document services, and help with discharge planning. The position emphasizes learning through ASAM-aligned training, teamwork, and direct client support within a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have a degree or high school diploma/equivalent. Trainee status with Missouri Credentialing Board required, under supervision by a Qualified Addiction Professional.
  • Must maintain supervision and complete required MCB supervision training.
  • Annual training and state requirements must be completed within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in screening and assessment under supervision of a licensed counselor or therapist.
  • Develop treatment plans based on assessment data under supervision.
  • Participate in clinical staffing and team meetings with feedback on cases.
  • Document services per regulatory standards with timely entries and references to treatment plans.
  • Ensure treatment plans and discharge summaries are reviewed by a Qualified Addiction Professional.
  • Assist client transitions and complete necessary correspondence.
  • Complete annual training per ASAM standards.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, referrals, and coworkers.
  • Handle crisis situations and notify supervisors as required.
  • Facilitate group counseling, education sessions, and family conferences.

In this role, you will assist individuals in accordance with their treatment plans, contributing to the improvement of their mental health and/or substance use disorders. You will develop treatment plans, participate in clinical meetings, and provide essential documentation, all while supporting clients through their recovery process. This role is designed to provide ample learning and professional growth opportunities for individuals starting their careers in the addiction treatment field. **This position offers....** * **Employee Assistance Program** – 24/7 counseling services, legal assistance, & financial consultation for you and your household at no cost* **Mileage Reimbursement** – Company paid for work functions requiring travel* **Employee Discounts** – Hotels, Theme Parks & Attractions, College Tuition* **Workplace Culture** - An environment cultivating employee wellbeing, valuing each individual's humanity, and actively promoting a healthy, joyful workforce.* **Additional Perks & Benefits** - Scroll down to bottom of this post to learn more **Key Responsibilities:** · Assist in the screening and assessment process under the supervision of a licensed/qualified counselor or therapist. · Develop treatment plans for clients based on assessment data, under supervision. · Participate in clinical staffing and team meetings, offering feedback on pertinent cases. · Adhere to Collaborative Service Goal (CSG) expectations and provide direct services accordingly. · Document services provided in accordance with regulatory standards, ensuring timely entries and proper references to treatment plans. · Ensure that treatment plans and discharge summaries are reviewed and countersigned by a Qualified Addiction Professional. · Assist with client transitions, completing necessary correspondence. · Complete required annual training in compliance with ASAM standards. · Maintain positive professional relationships with clients, referral sources, and coworkers. · Handle crisis situations as they arise, notifying supervisors as required. · Facilitate group counseling, education sessions, family conferences, and individual sessions. · Demonstrate a commitment to both short-term and long-term company goals. **Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:** · Associate’s degree or high school diploma/equivalent required. · Must be a trainee meeting registration and supervision requirements as set by the Missouri Credentialing Board or the appropriate state board of professional registration. · Must be supervised by a Qualified Addiction Professional who has completed MCB Clinical Supervision Training. **Additional Qualifications:** · Must have a current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance. · First Aid and CPR certifications required within three months of employment. · Behavioral Management and Crisis Management training required within thirty (30) days of employment. · Must complete the annual 50-hour training requirement (Missouri Only). **Physical Requirements:** · Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects. · Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing.
