Texas Health and Human Services Commission Office of Inspector General seeks an Associate Counsel (Attorney II) to manage a docket of moderately complex civil administrative enforcement cases and assist with audits and investigations. The role may involve solo or team-based litigation, witness interviews, and drafting pleadings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a law school approved by the Supreme Court of Texas with a J.D.

Responsibilities

• Case evaluation and preparation for litigation.
• Litigation before SOAH or HHSC Appeals Division including memos, briefs, pleadings, and discovery.
• Prepare exhibits, witness prep, and participate in hearings.
• Deposition and examination of witnesses, possibly acting as second chair.
• Keep management advised of case progress.
