Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks an Attorney II in Austin to perform journey-level attorney work in the OCC Legal Services Division, focusing on labor and employment and civil rights matters.

You will review complaints, draft responses, provide legal analysis to CRO, assist HR with policy development, and advise on changes in state and federal laws, with telework eligibility and regular full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have JD or LLB and be admitted to the Texas Bar.
• Experience in civil rights and employment law preferred.
• Ability to draft policies, legal opinions and investigations.
• Strong writing, research and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Review civil rights complaints and develop agency responses.
• Direct investigative processes and draft position statements.
• Provide legal support to HR on policy matters and training.
• Research statutes and regulations and advise on compliance.
