Associate Corporate Counsel, Amazon Legal

Key job responsibilities
You will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for a broad range of matters, including product counseling, data management, artificial intelligence development, marketing, and privacy. You will work directly with the business, providing day-to-day input on business and strategy, and serving as counsel on strategic issues. You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

- 2+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Ability to demonstrate great judgment even in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
- Ability to build rapport with and earn trust of business partners
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
