Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec's Columbia, MD engineering team is seeking an Associate Controls Engineer to work on PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, electrical/instrumentation, check-out support, and start-up assistance.

You will design, develop, and implement control systems, create schematics and panel layouts in AutoCAD, and contribute to project documentation while supporting diverse client environments. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

BS degree in engineering preferred; other engineering tech combinations considered.
0–2 years of experience in controls engineering.
Exposure to PLC/SCADA/HMI programming and instrumentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement control systems to meet requirements.
Develop control logic software and user interfaces.
Create schematics and wiring diagrams; design panel layouts in AutoCAD.
Support start-up, debugging, and system documentation.
Collaborate on automation projects for pharma/biotech, water, data centers, etc.
Adhere to scope, quality, schedule, and budget; build client partnerships.
Travel up to 25%.
