Associate Controls and Automation Engineer

The position is located at our Henderson, NV manufacturing facility.

Position: Associate Controls & Automation Engineer

We are seeking a creative, collaborative, and results-driven Associate Controls & Automation Engineer to support our manufacturing floor alongside the Controls & Automation Engineer. This role involves providing project and operational support to our beverage manufacturing and packaging facility. The successful candidate will assist in evaluating and selecting automation hardware and software to meet current and future needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of controls and automation systems testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for packaging and processing equipment.
  • Assist in managing controls and automation interfaces, testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for all packaging and processing equipment.
  • Assist with developing and modifying PLC and HMI programs.
  • Provide project engineering support to process areas within the beverage plant.
  • Support the implementation of standardization and process improvement initiatives for facility control systems.
  • Offer controls support for the manufacturing facility and assist plant mechanics in troubleshooting.
  • Ensure proper documentation of control/electrical systems and manage change control procedures.
  • Assist with developing and managing controls-related capital projects.
  • Contribute to the design and maintainability of new process control systems and manage change control procedures for existing equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or at least 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience in food and beverage or pharmaceutical industries is a plus.
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC-5, SLC-500, MicroLogix, and ControlLogix hardware.
  • Experience with RSLogix5, RSLogix500, and RSLogix5000 software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and program PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and Vision Systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting Ethernet, Remote I/O, and DeviceNet communication networks.
  • General knowledge of the National Electrical Code is a plus.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within teams at various organizational levels.
