Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) seeks an experienced Associate Controller to join our Finance leadership team.

Reporting to the Controller, you will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, grants accounting, audits, treasury activities, internal controls, and month- and year-end closes for a mission-driven health care organization.

Formación

• Bachelor's in Accounting required; Master's preferred.
• Active CPA license required.
• 8+ years progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years supervisory/leadership experience.
• Experience with month-end and year-end closes.
• Experience with audits (financial statements).
• Strong GAAP, internal controls & nonprofit/grants exp.
• FQHC/healthcare/public accounting and federal grants helpful.
• NetSuite or ERP systems experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations: GL, reconciliations, payroll, fixed assets, grants accounting.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, analyses, and reporting packages.
• Support grant compliance, financial reporting, and reimbursement activities.
• Assist with annual audits, Single Audits, Form 990 reporting, and regulatory filings.
• Maintain internal controls and identify process improvements.
• Support treasury management, cash forecasting, and banking activities.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
• Support NetSuite and other financial systems optimization.

Educación

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Master's Degree preferred

Active CPA license

8+ years accounting experience

3+ years leadership experience

GAAP financial reporting

Nonprofit accounting and grants management

NetSuite or ERP experience

Description

Established in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a multi‑site mission‑driven non‑profit organization employing over 700 staff whose primary focus is providing the highest quality patient care to residents throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites throughout the service area and is the sponsoring organization for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.

GLFHC is seeking an experienced Associate Controller to join our Finance leadership team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, grants accounting, audit support, treasury activities, internal controls, and month‑end/year‑end close processes for a mission‑driven healthcare organization. The Associate Controller serves as a key business partner to Finance leadership, supervises accounting staff, ensures compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, HRSA requirements, and federal grant regulations, and acts as the Controller's designee when needed.

• Support optimization of NetSuite and other financial systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Active CPA license required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience managing month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Experience supporting or leading annual financial statement audits.
• Strong experience with GAAP financial reporting, audits, month‑end close, and internal controls.
• Nonprofit accounting and grants management experience required.
• FQHC, healthcare, public accounting, and federal grant experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred.
