In addition, it has full development cycle capabilities, including in-house site acquisition, real estate, permitting, interconnection, engineering, pre-construction and much more. In Canada, Samsung has successfully developed, constructed, and continues to manage operation services for a 1.3GW solar+wind energy cluster.

About the Role

The Associate Construction Project Manager works directly with and supports the Construction Project Manager to bridge the gap between late-stage development and commercial operations. Operating from the Owner's side, you will assist in administering EPC contracts, tracking field execution metrics, managing documentation, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role offers a direct track toward full project management responsibility within the utility‑scale renewables sector.

Contract Administration & Commercial Support
  • Assist the Project Manager in tracking deliverables related to Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Agreements (EPCA).
  • Coordinate the gathering and formatting of technical exhibits, permit conditions, and interconnection requirements for contract attachments.
  • Organize and track contractor change orders, requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and potential claims.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk management, and engineering teams to ensure all contract documentation remains organized and compliant.
EPC & Contractor Coordination
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for EPC contractors, ensuring smooth communication channels.
  • Log, track, and follow up on contractor compliance items, milestones, and daily construction reports.
  • Review contractor QA/QC documentation to confirm alignment with approved design specifications.
  • Maintain the central project document control system for all construction drawings and records.
Project Tracking & Schedule Monitoring
  • Assist in reviewing baseline Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly field progress.
  • Identify potential schedule bottlenecks or critical path risks early and flag them for the Project Manager.
  • Document project progress through site photos, progress logs, and detailed meeting minutes.
  • Support the coordination of commissioning, mechanical completion testing, and grid interconnection activities.
Financial & Budget Controls
  • Assist in tracking the overall project budget, commitments, change order impact logs, and contingencies.
  • Perform initial reviews of monthly contractor progress billings, draw requests, and supporting lien waivers.
  • Help compile data for monthly financial forecasting, cash-flow projections, and cost-to-complete reports.
Stakeholder & Regulatory Alignment
  • Track compliance schedules for local, state, and federal permits, environmental constraints, and interconnect agreements.
  • Coordinate logistics and communication with local communities, landowners, utilities, and independent engineers.
  • Interface internally with Development, Procurement, Finance, and Asset Management teams.
  • Support the enforcement of a zero-incident safety culture by participating in site safety walks and auditing contractor safety logs.
Education & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a highly related technical field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of project management, project engineering, or coordination experience in utility-scale power generation or heavy industrial construction.
  • Sector Expertise: At least 1–2 years of experience exposed to utility-scale Solar (PV) or BESS construction environments.
  • Track Record: Previous experience working for an IPP, Developer, EPC Contractor, or Owner's Engineering firm.
Skills & Certifications
  • Strong foundational understanding of EPC contract structures, commercial terms, and construction billing processes.
  • Proficiency with scheduling and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore).
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to manage high-volume project documentation.
  • Certifications: CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) or progress toward a PMP is a plus.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% to project sites across North America as required.
  • Work with a global team delivering innovative, large‑scale energy solutions.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for international collaboration.
  • Work with a global organization committed to innovation and sustainability
  • Opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic, mission‑driven environment
