About the Role
Working closely with Samsung C&T’s Development and Construction Teams, the Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project schedules for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects using Primavera P6 as the primary scheduling tool. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are executed on time, within scope, and in alignment with development, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning milestones. This is a highly self-driven role requiring regular coordination with multiple subject matter experts (SMEs) across the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and manage fully logic-driven, resource-loaded project schedules in Primavera P6 for utility-scale solar and BESS projects
- Establish baseline schedules and track progress against approved baselines
- Work closely with Development Project Managers to align early-stage development, permitting, land control, interconnection, and EPC planning schedules
- Integrate development, engineering, procurement, permitting, construction, interconnection, commissioning, and closeout activities into cohesive schedules
- Proactively solicit input from subject matter experts (engineering, procurement, construction, interconnection, commissioning, and owners) to update live project schedules
- Produce and distribute detailed schedule Variance Reports every two weeks, identifying logic changes, progress deviations, critical path shifts, and schedule risks
- Conduct critical path, near-critical path, and float analysis to identify and mitigate schedule risk
- Update schedules regularly using field progress, vendor updates, and subcontractor reports
- Perform schedule impact analyses, time impact analyses (TIAs), and recovery planning as required
- Support change management by forecasting schedule impacts related to scope changes, delays, and unforeseen conditions
- Develop look-ahead schedules and detailed phase schedules for construction and commissioning teams
- Prepare and deliver schedule reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for executive leadership and project stakeholders
- Interface closely with project management, development, construction, engineering, procurement, and owners’ representatives
- Support claims analysis and documentation with defensible schedule data when required
- Ensure schedules comply with contract requirements, owner standards, and project controls best practices
- Participate in project meetings and provide schedule-driven insights for decision-making
- Maintain schedule archives, version control, and updating protocols in accordance with company procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience as a project scheduler on large-scale construction, infrastructure, or energy projects
- Advanced, hands‑on experience with Oracle Primavera P6 required
- Experience in utility‑scale solar, battery storage (BESS), transmission, substations, or large infrastructure projects strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of development-to‑EPC project sequencing, procurement cycles, and field operations
- High level of self‑motivation with the ability to independently drive schedule updates across multiple SME groups
- Proven ability to liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial teams for timely and accurate data collection
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel and project reporting tools
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate schedule risks, variance drivers, and recovery strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven, multi‑project environment
Preferred Skills
- CPM (Certified Planning & Scheduling Professional) or PMP certification
- Experience with cost‑loaded schedules and earned value management (EVM)
- Experience supporting claims, disputes, or schedule forensics
- Familiarity with interconnection, utility tie‑ins, and commissioning schedules for renewable projects
- Experience working under EPC contract structures and with owners’ engineers
