Secretariat is recruiting an Associate into its Construction Delay team in New York, an entry level post aimed at candidates still completing a degree and able to start between January and September 2027. The team is instructed when a major project runs late and the parties need to establish why.
The successful applicant will learn how construction programmes are built, updated and analysed, working in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project on live project data.
Day to day work covers the examination of schedules, drawings, progress reports, correspondence and project records to establish the sequence of events, and the analysis of large data sets to identify the patterns that explain why a project finished early, late or otherwise than planned. Findings are turned into expert reports, presentations and client deliverables.
Projects span buildings, infrastructure, power and utilities, and oil and gas, and the associate sits alongside engineers, construction managers, architects, schedulers and accountants. Applicants need a bachelor's degree in progress in engineering, construction management, building construction, architecture or a cognate subject, with a master's preferred, and a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
Earlier exposure to project management, scheduling or cost control is welcomed but not required. Travel is expected and applicants must already be authorised to work in the United States. Secretariat publishes the pay range as 87,500 to 95,000 US dollars.
