The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Specialist to support the FCAT unit and the SFHP project. You will review test procedures, validate energization readiness for UPS, switchgear, generators and emergency lighting, and collaborate with end-users, contractors and vendors to ensure safe, compliant system performance and thorough documentation handover.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical commissioning oversight for UPS systems, low voltage switchgear, generators, panelboards, emergency lighting, and related electrical infrastructure.
• Review electrical commissioning test procedures and Pre-Test Checklists (PTCs) and validate installation/energization readiness.
• Integrate electrical tests with the construction schedule and coordinate with end-users, contractors and vendors to confirm safe and compliant system performance.
• Support issue resolution, ensure documentation handover quality, and confirm final acceptance readiness for all electrical systems.

Job Description

The Facility Commissioning and Turnover (FCAT) unit provides commissioning oversight and turnover assurance, ensuring that all building systems and equipment delivered for the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project (SFHP) meet the Owner's Project Requirements and are ready for operational acceptance. This role serves as electrical commissioning oversight for UPS systems, low voltage switchgear, generators, panelboards, emergency lighting, and other electrical infrastructure. You will review electrical commissioning test procedures and Pre-Test Checklists (PTCs), validate installation and energization readiness, integrate electrical tests with the integrated construction schedule, and work closely with end-users, contractors, and vendors to confirm safe and compliant system performance. You will support issue resolution, ensure documentation handover quality, and confirm final acceptance readiness for all electrical systems.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field.

Pay Range

$63,900.00 - $97,800.00 annually. Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
