Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications Associate is focused on public relations and community engagement for mission critical projects, while also supporting broader corporate communications activities. This position is required to be based on-site at our Dallas or Houston office location. They will serve as the day-to-day communications resource for assigned Technology projects, with travel to jobsites as needed (up to 20%). Responsibilities include stakeholder outreach, community bulletins and construction alerts, tracking and helping resolve community concerns, media coordination, and general communications support.
Working closely with the client's PR and community outreach team and HITT project leadership, the Communications Associate will identify communications needs, support jobsite messaging and engagement, and help ensure project information is clear, timely, and aligned with company brand and communications standards. The role will also support internal and external corporate communications assignments.
The position requires strong writing and editing skills, sound judgment and discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is collaborative, solutions-oriented, and comfortable spending significant time in active construction environments. They are a proactive self-starter who takes ownership, learns quickly, and is motivated to grow their communications skills and responsibilities over time.
