Job summary

Chromalloy in Carson City, Nevada is seeking an Associate Coating Engineer to support APS coating development and production. You will lead new programs, deploy upgraded equipment, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing with a focus on process maturity and KPIs.

Your role involves collaboration with engineering, operations, and QA to optimize designs, solve technical challenges, and mentor junior staff. Travel occasionally to support site initiatives and capital projects.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering; 0–2 years in manufacturing preferred.
Strong interest in learning coating technologies.
Experience with CMM, white-light/laser scanning, gages, or related metrology is preferred.
Familiarity with FAA PMA and RS-DER guidelines is a plus.
Excellent program management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Drive process capability and maturity for APS coatings with lean problem-solving and KPI impact.
Develop new APS programs including robotic programming and qualification.
Lead equipment upgrade and continuous improvement projects end-to-end.
Own components and processes from concept through manufacturing; troubleshoot and sustain.
Collaborate cross-functionally on designs and repairs meeting cost, performance, and durability targets.
Prepare technical reports and procedures; present to internal and external audiences; mentor staff. Occasional travel.
