Job summary

IMA Financial Group, Inc. is seeking a development-oriented professional in Pasadena, CA to support and learn the Account Manager role. You will shadow an Account Manager, assist on renewals, and gain experience managing client relationships and carrier negotiations.

The role emphasizes training, data accuracy in AMS, and collaboration with account executives to deliver accurate proposals and policy changes. This position offers solid benefits and growth within a national firm.

Responsibilities

  • Shadows AM and assists on renewals
  • Creates the marketing submission and manages ongoing negotiations with carriers under AE guidance
  • Receives quotes, reviews for accuracy and coverage, terms, pricing, and prepares proposals
  • Sends instructions to COE and tracks changes during negotiations
  • Performs premium allocations, certificates of insurance requests, and master approvals
  • Handles policy endorsements and resolves coverage and premium discrepancies
  • Maintains data in AMS and supports audits of policies

Job description

Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

  • Pursues formal and informal training to develop into Account Manager
  • Demonstrates competencies to own a book of business, but does not yet own a book
  • Shadows AM and assists on renewals
  • Demonstrates proficiency to perform all job tasks with AE & AM oversight, including:
  • Using the client workbook, and under the direction of the Account Executive, creates the marketing submission and manages ongoing negotiates with carriers
  • Receives quotes, reviews for accuracy and desired coverages, terms, pricing from submission, generates and populates the proposal, and sends to Account Executive for completion/review
  • Receives policies, sends instructions to the applicable COE and keeps COE abreast of any changes that occur during negotiations with ability to process the policy if needed
  • Other general responsibilities include premium allocations, surplus lines template preparation, Certificate of Insurance request template preparation & master approval, on-demand certificates, basic contract reviews, policy endorsements, resolving coverage and premium discrepancy issues, and audits on expired and/or non-renewed policies

Required Experience and Skills include but are not limited to:

  • Experience in insurance or related industry
  • Ability to work within AMS and maintain data completeness standards

Salary Range: $70,000 USD - $80,000 USD
