Job summary

NV5, Inc. is seeking an Associate Engineer with 5+ years of civil engineering experience to work on general infrastructure, transportation, street improvements, storm drainage, grading, and utility projects in California.

The candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and will assist Project Managers through all phases of project delivery. The role offers collaboration on impactful public infrastructure projects in a team environment, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
• EIT is a plus or CA PE is highly desired.
• 3+ years of progressive civil engineering design experience, preferably in roadway, grading, and drainage improvement.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with stormwater management design, grading, and utility layout.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design General Infrastructure, Streets, and Storm Drainage Improvements.
• Uses AutoCAD/Civil 3D to prepare plans and profiles for street projects.
• Designs and prepares signing and striping plans.
• Prepares a variety of exhibits including composite utility exhibits.
• Collaborate to prepare rough and precise grading and drainage plans.
• Prepare WQMP/SWPPP and BMP maps and design calculations.
• Prepare project cost estimates and write specifications.
