NV5, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Engineer with a background in Civil or Environmental Engineering to support transportation, general infrastructure, water and wastewater projects.

The role welcomes part-time or full-time applicants and emphasizes experience with design and construction familiarity, along with AutoCAD/Civil 3D tools. The successful candidate will work with project teams under a Project Manager, contribute to plans, reports, and blueprints, and advance toward California PE

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, or related field.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid California Driver's license at the time of hire
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Training (EIT) by the State of California; OR by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain California Registration within six (6) months of employment

Responsibilities

• Designs Transportation, General Infrastructure, Streets, Traffic Improvements, Storm Drainage.
• Designs water improvement, sewer improvement, and fire service plans for residential and commercial developments.
• Applies Civil 3D to create pipe networks, profile views, and plan sheets; coordinates with plan checkers.
• Prepares WQMP reports and BMP maps for residential projects.
• Prepares a variety of exhibits, including utility and fire flow exhibits.
• Prepares sewer study reports.
• Collaborates with the team on rough grading plans and drainage designs.
• Designs street light plans and signing/striping plans; supports street profile designs.
• Performs wall/foundation calculations and creates wall profiles to County standards.
• Estimated project costs by calculating quantities and unit costs.
