Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join our Renewable Energy Team in Chelmsford, MA or Boston, MA. You will support the planning, design, permitting, and construction of solar, battery storage, and other renewable energy developments across New England.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges, advance sustainable infrastructure, and contribute to projects funded at federal, state, and local levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• 1–3 years of civil engineering experience.
• Experience with site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and permitting.
• Working knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, regulations, and construction practices.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, permitting, and construction of renewable energy and land development projects.
• Design site layouts, grading plans, and construction drawings using Civil 3D; develop stormwater management designs; prepare hydraulic calculations.
• Assist with permitting strategies, regulatory coordination, and environmental compliance; prepare technical reports and calculations.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, scientists, and project managers on multidisciplinary projects; contribute to project scoping, budgeting, and work planning.
