Job summary

Chemours is seeking an Associate Chemist to join the Core Services Team in the Thermal & Specialty Solutions business at the Newark, DE location. The role focuses on providing critical analytical testing for refrigerant molecules and blends, in collaboration with Product and Process groups.

The candidate conducts high-hazard experiments, safely handles gas cylinders, and maintains records to meet safety and environmental requirements while using GC/MS, IC, titration, and FT-IR techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering or similar discipline.
• Experience with analytical laboratory equipment and data analysis.
• Ability to read and understand SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-hazard processes for sealed tube experiments supporting refrigerant analysis.
• Safely handle compressed gas cylinders and manage testing.
• Perform in-laboratory analytical testing (GC/MS, IC, titration, FT-IR) for fluorochemical products.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Plan and conduct experiments, analyze data and document results.
