Job summary

Trane Technologies in Davidson, NC is hiring an Associate Category Manager to manage a segment of the Diversified Components category within North America. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to capture category requirements and drive supplier qualification.

You will support negotiations, contract lifecycle management, and continuous improvement projects to deliver category productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, engineering or related field.
• 2+ years procurement/sourcing experience.
• Ability to assess vendors and demonstrated negotiating skills.
• Experience facilitating discussions and strong conflict resolution skills.
• Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, engage and align with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality or other business partners) to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality.
• Partner with business unit Procurement teams to efficiently transition suppliers as needed; Support region/sector New Product Development (NPD) Procurement teams through preferred supplier programs.
• Support negotiations and supplier selection; accountable for contract lifecycle management and compliance.
• Cost management: deliver category productivity through price, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects.
• Risk management: monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance.

What you will do:

• Collaboration: Identify, engage and align with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality or other business partners) to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality; Partner with business unit Procurement teams to efficiently transition suppliers as needed; Support region/sector New Product Development (NPD) Procurement teams through preferred supplier programs.
• Negotiations: Support negotiations and supplier selection; accountable for contract lifecycle management and compliance.
• Cost Management: Responsible for delivering category productivity through price, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects.
• Supplier Management: Support supplier segmentation, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and quarterly supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within category; Ensure creation of supplier profiles for all SRM suppliers.
• Risk Management: Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of procurement / sourcing experience, ex: consulting, purchasing / buyer, and/or analyst experience.
• Ability to assess vendors and demonstrated negotiating skills.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating discussions and strong conflict resolution skills.
• Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$72,611.66 - $101,394.99 Compensation Type: Salary Incentive Eligible: No Sales Commission Eligible: No Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors. Our compensation range is generally based on the national average for the country.
