Job summary

Trane Technologies in Davidson, NC, is hiring an Associate Category Manager to oversee a segment of the Diversified Components category within North America. This role offers career development into Category Management and exposure to strategic supplier relationships.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to qualify suppliers, support negotiations, and drive cost productivity through continuous improvement, while ensuring SRM processes and risk management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of procurement / sourcing experience.
• Ability to assess vendors and demonstrated negotiating skills.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating discussions and strong conflict resolution skills.
• Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality and other partners to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality.
• Partner with procurement teams to transition suppliers and support NPD procurement through preferred supplier programs.
• Support negotiations and supplier selection; accountable for contract lifecycle management and compliance.
• Deliver category productivity through price, value analysis, or continuous improvement projects.
• Support supplier segmentation, SRM and quarterly reviews for all strategic suppliers.
• Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance.

Trane Technologies is hiring an Associate Category Manager in Davidson North Carolina! The Associate Category Manager will manage a segment of the Diversified Components category within the North America region. This is a fantastic opportunity for career development into Category Management.

What you will do:

• Collaboration: Identify, engage and align with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality or other business partners) to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality;
• Partner with business unit Procurement teams to efficiently transition suppliers as needed; Support region/sector New Product Development (NPD) Procurement teams through preferred supplier programs.
• Negotiations: Support negotiations and supplier selection; accountable for contract lifecycle management and compliance.
• Cost Management: Responsible for delivering category productivity through price, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects.
• Supplier Management: Support supplier segmentation, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and quarterly supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within category; Ensure creation of supplier profiles for all SRM suppliers.
• Risk Management: Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of procurement / sourcing experience, ex: consulting, purchasing / buyer, and/or analyst experience.
• Ability to assess vendors and demonstrated negotiating skills.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating discussions and strong conflict resolution skills.
• Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.
