Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking an Associate Buyer in Texas with 4+ years of hands-on buying and merchandising experience. You will influence product assortments, manage brands, and drive profitable decisions while collaborating with planning and merchandising teams.

The role requires strong Excel skills, vendor management, and a proactive, analytical mindset to optimize margins and inventory turns. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive retail merchandising experience with hands-on buying responsibilities.
• Experience in product selection, assortment planning, vendor relationships, and merchandise analysis.
• Strong understanding of retail financials, including OTB, IMU, AUR, margins, and inventory turns.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and PivotTables.
• Ability to work onsite in Texas and travel up to 15%

Responsibilities

• Support product selection, assortment development, pricing, and promotional strategies.
• Manage assigned brands or merchandise classifications within established buying guidelines.
• Analyze sales, margins, inventory, and OTB to recommend profitable buying decisions.
• Build vendor relationships, participate in line reviews, and support negotiations.
• Identify merchandise trends and opportunities to improve sales and inventory productivity.
• Collaborate with Planning, Allocation, and Merchandising teams to achieve business goals
