Job summary

Flexfab is seeking an Associate Buyer in Hastings, MI to secure raw materials, components, and services at the right cost, quality, and timing. You will build vendor relationships and maintain purchasing data to keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities include placing and tracking POs, evaluating quotes, maintaining ERP data, and coordinating with Quality, Production, and Accounting to resolve issues. This role is on-site in a manufacturing facility with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• One or more years of experience in purchasing or a similar role.
• Experience with ERP systems and supplier coordination is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Place&track purchase orders that meet material specifications&required dates
• Compare quotesandrecommend cost-effective options thatmeetallstandards
• Maintainaccuratelead times, pricing, and delivery status in the ERP system
• Monitor open orders, follow up on late deliveries, and communicate changes to stakeholders
• Resolve order discrepancies quickly with Quality, Production, and Accounting
• Prepare basicspend-analysisreports showing savings&supplier performance
• Support vendor onboarding and performance reviews withtimely,accuratedata
• Participate in cross-functional meetings, offering respectful input that drives shared success
• Communicate transparently,ownmistakes, and seek feedback for continuous learning
• Contribute ideas that improve cost, efficiency, or service

Qualifications

Working Conditions

• Regular use of computer system, purchasing software, email and telephone communication
• Primary On-site office environment within a manufacturing facility
• Frequent interaction with suppliers, production personnel – cross functional team
• Limited travel for supplier visits or training may berequired
