Job Responsibilities

1. Generate and execute CPSR-compliant purchase orders based on approved requisitions, requests for proposals, bids, and other necessary documents related to purchasing supplies, equipment, services, and materials.
2. Perform various tactical duties to support purchasing activities.
3. Assist in negotiations under supervision, applying knowledge of commercial contract law and guidelines to assess, plan, and negotiate terms to minimize risk.
4. Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and resolve issues related to pricing, quality, timing, claims, and contract disputes.
5. Understand demand and spend profiles for commodity areas and provide relevant information.
6. Track and report on cost savings or avoidance initiatives.
7. Maintain accurate records of vendor agreements and procurement activities.
8. Assist in sourcing initiatives as needed.
9. Communicate supplier performance metrics.
10. Serve as the primary contact between DRS personnel and suppliers.
11. Support and promote the company's mission, values, and culture.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience, with 0+ years in Purchasing.
• Understanding of procurement laws, contracts, and related legal considerations.
• Basic negotiation skills.

U.S. Citizenship required. An active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe is necessary.
