Job summary

Pennoni is seeking a Bridge Engineer for our Transportation Bridge Team in the Hampton Roads area. This full-time role focuses on analysis, design, NBIS inspections, and documentation across Mid-Atlantic projects.

Qualified candidates have a civil engineering degree, EIT, 2+ years bridge inspection experience, and proficiency in Microstation or AutoCAD, with a valid driver's license and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT).
• 2+ years bridge inspection experience.
• Meet NBIS Topside Team Inspector requirements.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Occasional travel/overnight travel may be required.
• Proficiency in Microstation or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and/or design of Bridges, Waterfront Structures, Culverts and Retaining Walls.
• Perform NBIS Bridge inspections in Virginia and North Carolina.
• Produce high-quality technical writing for inspection reports and studies.
• Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
