Haley & Aldrich is seeking an Associate, Biologist or Environmental Scientist to lead business development and technical work in a dynamic team across Michigan and Ohio offices. The role emphasizes growth, client networking, and project leadership within natural resources and permitting.

The position offers a full-time role with responsibility across multiple markets and clients, with emphasis on delivering technical reporting, proposals, and site evaluations in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field.
• Minimum of 15 years related experience including 5 years of Project Management.
• Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification preferred.
• Experience with local, state and federal permitting, natural resource management in the Midwest regions a must.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Environmental design and contract package development experience.
• Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks pertinent to the work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and identify new client opportunities and build a book of business.
• Lead business development opportunities in natural resources and permitting.
• Develop scopes of work and proposals within your area of expertise.
• Coach and mentor staff for high-quality project delivery.
• Lead proposals and technical reporting for natural resources and permitting.
• Oversee restoration and mitigation design plans.
• Ensure work follows health and safety protocols.
