• Analyze liability, damages, and potential exposure, and communicate with clients and counsel.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 1+ years of litigation experience, preferably in civil defense, who is ready to take on meaningful responsibility, develop strong litigation skills, and grow alongside experienced attorneys. We will also consider newly admitted attorneys who demonstrate strong writing skills, sound judgment, and an interest in civil defense litigation.

About the Role

Our Tampa office is looking for an attorney interested in building a strong foundation in general liability defense litigation. The position offers direct mentorship from experienced litigators, exposure to substantive case responsibilities, and opportunities to develop courtroom and litigation skills. The role is primarily office based, with the potential for some remote flexibility as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Handle general liability defense matters through various stages of litigation
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other substantive legal documents
• Conduct legal research and prepare case evaluations and litigation strategies
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings
• Analyze liability, damages, and potential exposure
• Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and colleagues
• Manage deadlines, case responsibilities, and litigation priorities

Qualifications

• Active Florida Bar license in good standing
• 1+ years of litigation experience preferred, particularly in general liability or insurance defense
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
• Familiarity with discovery, motion practice, and civil litigation procedures
• Strong organizational skills, professional judgment, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative litigation team
• Intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a genuine interest in developing as a litigator
• Newly admitted attorneys with strong academic credentials, relevant experience, and demonstrated litigation potential are encouraged to apply
