A highly respected Florida litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing team in St. Petersburg or Tampa, Florida. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 2 to 8 years of litigation experience who is looking to further develop their career handling general liability and professional liability defense matters. The firm offers a collaborative, client-focused environment with the opportunity to work on complex litigation cases while partnering closely with experienced attorneys and firm leadership.

Job and Responsibilities

The Associate Attorney will manage all phases of litigation from inception through resolution. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents; conducting legal research; managing written discovery; taking and defending depositions; handling motion practice; and preparing cases for trial. The attorney will represent clients at court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations while maintaining regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers. The role also involves developing litigation strategies and collaborating with senior attorneys and partners to achieve favorable client outcomes.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active Bar License and in good standing
• 2 to 8 years of experience in General Liability and/or Professional Liability Defense
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
• Experience handling pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, and courtroom skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced litigation environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience representing clients in mediations and arbitrations
• Trial preparation and courtroom experience
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
• Strong client service and relationship management skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective litigation strategies

Compensation & Location

Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000 annually, plus bonus (commensurate with experience)
