Job summary

The Law Office of Kimberly L. Kelly, LLC is seeking a full-time associate attorney to handle probate matters and mental health commitments at our small, friendly office north of Boston in Stoneham.

The attorney will represent clients in Probate and Family Court for guardianship, conservatorship, and estate matters and in District Court for civil commitment and substituted judgment hearings in MA. Three or more years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in probate, guardianship, conservatorship or estate matters.
• JD with MA license required.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Handle probate matters and mental health commitments in Probate and Family Court under M.G.L. c. 190B, Art. V.
• Represent clients in District Courts in civil commitment hearings and substituted judgment hearings under M.G.L. c. 128.
• Meet with doctors, social workers, and witnesses to prepare cases and evidence.
• Prepare petitions and motions and attend court appearances in Probate and Family Court and District Court.
