Job summary

The Law Office of Kimberly L. Kelly, LLC is seeking a full-time associate attorney to handle probate matters and mental health commitments at our small, friendly office just north of Boston. The attorney will represent clients in the Probate and Family Court in guardianship, conservatorship, and estate matters pursuant to M.G.L. c. 190B, Article V.

Three plus years experience is required. Our ideal candidate will be able to take initiative and complete tasks with minimal direction.

Qualifications

• J.D. licensed to practice in Massachusetts and in good standing.
• Three or more years of probate, elder care, or disability law experience.
• Strong writing and oral advocacy skills; able to work independently.
• Ability to meet with clients, doctors, social workers, and witnesses.
• Capable of preparing petitions, motions, and court filings.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in Probate and Family Court for guardianship, conservatorship, and estate matters.
• Handle civil commitment hearings in District Courts.
• Prepare petitions, motions, and court filings.
• Coordinate with doctors, social workers, witnesses for evidence.
• Communicate with opposing counsel and manage caseload.
