Strategic HR Outsourcing Solutions (SOS HR) is assisting a small personal injury boutique law firm in Rockville, MD to find an Associate Attorney. You will work with a Senior Attorney on assigned cases, handle client contact, and represent clients in District and Circuit Courts across Maryland and Virginia.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of personal injury and litigation experience, must be licensed in Maryland and Virginia, and can negotiate settlements while vigorously advocating when

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be licensed to practice in Maryland and Virginia.
• 3+ years of personal injury and litigation experience.
• Litigation experience required; Workers' Compensation exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial client consultations and maintain ongoing client contact.
• Draft legal documents including motions, pleadings, and briefs.
• Manage discovery processes including depositions and document review.
• Perform comprehensive legal research for assigned cases.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
• Make regular court appearances in Maryland and Virginia District and Circuit Courts.

Overview

Are you ready to work in a challenging, well – established, and dynamic law firm? Our client is a small personal injury boutique law firm with 4 lawyers and 3 paralegals seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in personal injury to help manage their high volume of litigation cases.

Job Summary

As an Associate Attorney, you will work alongside a Senior Attorney on assigned cases while taking on direct client contact and court representation. Your tasks include conducting initial client consultations, drafting legal documents, managing the discovery process, and performing legal research.

You will represent their clients in both District and Circuit Courts across Maryland and Virginia. While they frequently negotiate settlements on behalf of clients, they are looking for someone who can aggressively represent their clients' interests in litigation. Their ideal applicant has litigating experience, with background or exposure to personal injury, Workers' Compensation Commission, and negotiations with insurance companies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct initial consultations with potential clients and maintain ongoing client contact

Assist with and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs

Manage and assist with the discovery process by administering depositions, issuing interrogatories, and reviewing documents

Perform comprehensive legal research for assigned cases

Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients

Make regular court appearances as necessary in Maryland and Virginia District and Circuit Courts

Requirements and Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school

MUST BE licensed in both Maryland and Virginia

3+ years experience in personal injury and litigation

Litigating experience required

Experience in personal injury litigation

Experience in Workers' Compensation experience is a plus

Demonstrates patience, empathy, and exceptional client service

Ability to work with clients navigating stressful and emotionally challenging circumstances

Ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong analytical skills and sharp attention to detail

Self – motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while managing priorities and deadlines

Competitive salary $100K - $150K (+ commissions)
