Job summary

JBA International in Los Angeles seeks an attorney with 1–3 years of personal injury litigation experience to support a Senior Trial Attorney. You will handle intake, discovery, depositions, and drafting motions under supervision.

Responsibilities include communicating with clients, managing deadlines, and assisting with trial prep for motor vehicle and premises liability cases. CA Bar licensure is required; strong research and writing skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Handle a volume of personal injury cases under the direction of a Senior Trial Attorney.
• Take and defend depositions of Plaintiffs, Defendants, experts, and witnesses.
• Draft and respond to motions, including MSJ/Adjudication, Demurrers, and discovery motions.
• Propound and respond to written discovery as part of case development.
• Draft complaints for motor vehicle, premises liability, and related claims.
• Assist with settlement negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation documents.
• Maintain regular client communication and meet all deadlines.

Job description

• Minimum of 1-3 years of personal injury litigation experience.
• Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Handle a volume of personal injury cases with the direction of a Senior Trial Attorney.
• Represent clients in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other personal injury claims.
• Strong familiarity with legal research and law and motion practice.
• Take and defend depositions, including those of plaintiffs, defendants, experts, and witnesses.
• Draft and respond to motions and oppositions, including Motions for Summary Judgment/Adjudication, Demurrers, and discovery-related motions.
• Propound and respond to written discovery.
• Draft complaints ranging from basic motor vehicle accident cases to more complex premises liability and assault cases.
• Assist with settlement negotiations, mediations, and other litigation-related matters.
• Assist with trial preparation, including Motions in Limine, jury instructions, special verdict forms, and other trial-related documents.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties.
• Meet all court-imposed and internal deadlines.
