Duties:
- Draft and review a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery materials, correspondence, motions, and briefs
- Perform in-depth legal research to support cases and legal strategies
- Analyze and interpret legal documents to provide sound legal advice
- Attend depositions, court hearings, and other legal proceedings on behalf of clients
- Negotiate settlements and other resolutions to legal matters
- Handle multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate and well-organized case files and documentation
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Supreme Court
- Admission to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York is a plus
- At least 3-5 years of experience in insurance coverage and/or defense law
- Strong understanding of legal principles, procedures, and practices
- Proficiency in legal research and analysis
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Education:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
- Admitted to practice in New York State Supreme Court (required)
- Admission to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (preferred)
