seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join our boutique family law practice. You will handle active family law matters with significant client contact, draft motions and pleadings, conduct discovery, and participate in hearings and trials, while receiving mentorship in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of litigation experience (family law experience a plus but not required).
• Strong legal writing and persuasive advocacy skills.
• Comfortable communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Exercises sound judgment and professionalism in demanding situations.
• Strong organizational and case-management abilities.
• Motivated to develop into an outstanding family law attorney; thrives in a collegial environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active caseload with attorney support and mentorship.
• Meet directly with clients and develop case strategy.
• Draft motions, pleadings, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
• Review and organize financial, business, and evidentiary records.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation.
• Conduct depositions and witness preparation.
• Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and staff to obtain results for clients.

Strickler, Platnick & Hatfield, P.C. ("The Modern Family Law Firm") is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our growing team.

We are a boutique family law firm representing clients throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C. Our practice is devoted exclusively to family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, alimony, property division, relocation cases, contempt actions, and post-judgment litigation.

Unlike many firms, we are looking for an attorney who already has litigation experience and is ready to take on an active caseload with significant client responsibility. Family law experience is preferred but not required. Strong litigation experience in family law, civil litigation, criminal litigation, or judicial clerkships will be highly valued.

What You’ll Do

You will work directly with clients and collaborate closely with our attorneys on sophisticated and challenging family law matters. Responsibilities include:

• Managing an active caseload with attorney support and mentorship
