Strickler, Platnick & Hatfield, P.C. in Maryland and Washington, D.C. seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join our growing boutique family law team.

The firm represents clients in divorce, custody, support, and related litigation with emphasis on strategic case work. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of litigation experience, strong writing skills, and the ability to manage complex caseloads in a collaborative, mentor-rich environment.

Qualifications

• Has 2+ years of litigation experience, family law a plus but not required.
• Strong legal writing and persuasive advocacy abilities.
• Effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Solid organizational and case-management skills.
• Motivated to develop into an outstanding family law attorney.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active caseload with attorney support and mentorship.
• Meet directly with clients and develop case strategy.
• Draft motions, pleadings, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
• Review and organize financial, business, and evidentiary records.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation.
• Conduct depositions and witness preparation.
• Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and staff to achieve results.
