Blitt & Gaines Law Offices seeks an Associate Attorney to gain extensive courtroom experience, appearing regularly on behalf of the firm. You will review new claims, manage a contested litigation queue, and support all litigation processes. This role has no billable hour requirements.

The position requires a Juris Doctorate and Kansas bar admission, with additional licenses across operating states valued. Strong Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with collection systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate and Kansas bar admission required.
• Licenses in other operating states beneficial.
• Experience in debt collection or litigation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Appear in court at least three days per week.
• Review new claims for compliance with firm and client standards.
• Review and approve pleadings, including complaints and motions.
• Draft motions and responses for contested matters.
• Argue contested motions and conduct trials and arbitrations.
• Manage telephonic and written communications with opposing counsel.
• Prepare and respond to discovery or oversee counterclaims.
