Job description

Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 / Annually

Our client, a prominent law firm with offices throughout New York, has an immediate need for an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Westfield.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

1. Admission to practice law in the State of New Jersey.
2. A minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience.
3. Experience preparing and responding to initial pleadings, motions to dismiss, written fact discovery demands (requests for production, interrogatories, requests for admission), written expert discovery demands, and discovery-related motions and meet-and-confer correspondence.
4. Experience with Daubert and/or Frye motions, and motions for summary judgment.
5. Trial-related court filings experience (motions in limine, requests to charge, verdict sheets, etc.) is a plus.
6. Deposition experience, including taking and defending depositions.
7. Courthouse experience, including presenting oral arguments in motion practice.
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
9. Ability to multi-task and handle a robust caseload.
10. Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
11. Licensed to practice law in New York is a plus.
12. Experience in litigations involving businesses, real property, contract disputes, and other civil and commercial litigation.
13. Ability to build rapport with clients.
14. Flexibility, independence, and effective prioritization skills.
15. Creativity in achieving organizational goals while managing legal risks.
16. Collaborative attitude with effective communication skills.
17. Comfort working with all levels of business professionals in a fast-paced environment.
18. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
