Job summary

Trend Personnel represents a confidential Dallas law firm seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3–5+ years of substantive litigation experience. The ideal candidate is licensed in Texas and will handle all phases of pretrial litigation, from intake to trial preparation.

This role offers a base salary range of $167,500–$227,500 annually plus a full benefits package and potential signing and performance bonuses; strong academic credentials and excellent writing and research skills are

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas and good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • At least three years of substantive litigation experience.
  • Experience handling matters through the major phases of pretrial litigation.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience drafting substantive motions and briefs.
  • Working knowledge of discovery procedures, document production, depositions, and hearing preparation.
  • Strong academic record.Excellent judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex assignments under demanding deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in prospective-client intake and initial case evaluation.
  • Investigate facts and assist in developing case strategy.
  • Conduct sophisticated legal research and prepare practical written analyses.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Manage written discovery, document collection, review, production, and privilege analysis.
  • Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
  • Interview clients, witnesses, custodians, and other individuals with relevant information.
  • Work with expert witnesses, consultants, vendors, and e-discovery professionals.
  • Prepare for and participate in court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other proceedings.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding case status, strategy, deadlines, risks, and next steps.
  • Negotiate discovery matters and other case-related issues with opposing counsel.
  • Maintain case calendars and manage court-imposed and client deadlines.Prepare witness outlines, exhibit lists, motions in limine, pretrial filings, and trial-readiness materials.
  • Assist partners in evaluating settlement opportunities and preparing matters for trial.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of paralegals, legal assistants, and other support professionals when appropriate.
  • Record time accurately and comply with applicable billing and client-service expectations.

Position Overview

A respected full-service Dallas business law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its litigation practice. The firm is targeting attorneys with at least three to five years of substantive litigation experience. Qualified candidates with additional experience are also encouraged to apply.

The associate will handle all aspects of pretrial litigation, beginning with client intake and early case assessment and continuing through discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, settlement efforts, and final trial preparation.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with excellent academic credentials, strong research and writing abilities, sound professional judgment, and the confidence to assume meaningful responsibility for sophisticated matters. Candidates must be actively licensed to practice law in Texas.

The firm represents businesses, financial institutions, fiduciaries, healthcare organizations, employers, executives, and other clients in complex commercial and business-related disputes. Its broader practice includes corporate transactions, banking and finance, construction, employment, healthcare, employee benefits, real estate, tax, and trusts and estates.

  • Meaningful deposition, hearing, or courtroom experience.
  • Experience involving financial services, construction, employment, healthcare, employee benefits, real estate, corporate, fiduciary, or trust and estate disputes.
  • Admission to the federal courts serving Texas.
Compensation

The anticipated base salary range is $167,500–$227,500 annually, depending on experience, credentials, and qualifications. The position is also eligible for a performance bonus. A signing bonus may be available for an exceptionally qualified candidate.
