Associate Attorney – Insurance Defense

Meaningful insurance litigation experience across multiple practice areas.

A growing insurance defense practice is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Texas team. This is an opportunity for an attorney to take on meaningful litigation work across a broad range of insurance-related matters while working alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling insurance defense, property claims, coverage disputes, or related civil litigation. Attorneys with less experience but a strong interest in developing a career in insurance litigation are also encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do
  • Handle a caseload involving first-party property, insurance coverage, and general liability defense matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
  • Manage written discovery and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Communicate with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and other parties throughout the life of a case.
  • Develop case strategies and work toward efficient and favorable resolutions.
  • Assist with coverage analysis, claim evaluation, and litigation strategy.
  • Maintain strong organization and communication across an active caseload.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff while taking increasing ownership of assigned matters.
What We're Looking For
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
  • Experience with insurance defense, civil litigation, property claims, coverage, or a related practice area preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and a litigation caseload.
  • Strong attention to detail and a practical, client-focused approach.
  • Attorneys at varying levels of experience will be considered.
