Job description

This is a full-time remote role for an Associate Attorney in the litigation department at Smith Eilers, PLLC. As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal advice, conducting legal research, drafting and responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting legal documents, drafting and arguing motions, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in court, mediation, and arbitration as needed.

While this is a remote position, it is required that this associate be located in Miami-Dade or Broward County Florida, as this attorney will be responsible for hearing coverage in Courts throughout the region and state. Please do not apply if you do not live or are not willing to move to Miami-Dade or Broward County Florida.

The ideal candidate is highly organized and self-motivated. This is a role for an experienced litigator, who can analyze a matter, evaluate defenses and strategies, and prepare logical recommendations as to how best to proceed. Smith Eilers has physical office locations in Boca Raton, Florida and Asheville, North Carolina. However, team members are located independently of these offices, working in our remote environment. For this reason, a candidate to work for Smith Eilers must be independently motivated and able to thrive in a remote work environment.

  • Admission to the State Bar of Florida.
  • Not less than three (3) years experience in litigation.
  • Experience handling litigation independently from pre-suit negotiation through trial.
