O'Hagan Meyer in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-3+ years of litigation experience to join our growing office. You will own cases, develop courtroom skills, and work with experienced litigators on challenging defense matters.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of experience in commercial litigation, general liability litigation, or related practice areas
• Active admission to the Virginia State Bar (required)
• Experience practicing before state and federal courts preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and client-service abilities

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
• Manage discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
• Take and defend depositions
• Represent clients at mediations, hearings, and other proceedings
• Assist with trial strategy, preparation, and courtroom presentations
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and colleagues
• Handle court appearances, arbitrations, site inspections, and other litigation-related activities

What You'll Work On

Our associates handle a wide range of complex litigation matters, including:

• Business and commercial litigation
• General liability defense
• Labor and employment matters
• Medical malpractice defense
• Products liability litigation

Salary range: $125K - $140K base salary + bonus opportunity

Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
