Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced, self-starting Associate to join our litigation group in Parsippany, NJ. The successful candidate will possess excellent writing, research, and litigation skills. This full-time position involves working directly with and learning from a team of experienced attorneys and staff in a professional yet laid-back environment. The candidate should be a team player willing to assist colleagues as needed.

Primary Duties

1. File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
2. Extensive legal research and drafting of briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
3. Achieving an annual billable hours target of 1950 hours
4. Representing clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions
5. Drafting and responding to discovery requests
6. Expert witness retention and collaboration
7. Trial preparation and attendance
8. Some travel may be required

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' civil litigation experience, with emphasis on insurance defense
• Experience handling civil cases from inception to resolution
• Experience taking and defending depositions, including 30(b)(6) and experts, drafting/submitting motions, attending hearings and trials
• Experience in negotiations and mediations
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in New Jersey
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills
• Excellent work ethic and ability to self-manage and collaborate
• Prompt responsiveness to emails and calls
• Excellent client service and communication skills
