Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload involving foreclosure, title clearance, and real estate litigation.
  • Represent lenders and investors in routine and contested matters; appear in court and argue motions.
  • Develop case strategies, negotiate resolutions, and review loan files and title reports.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other case-related documents; maintain client communication.

Associate Attorney - Foreclosure & Title

Dallas, TX | Remote/Hybrid

Our client is a growing legal organization with a strong practice representing mortgage lenders, investors, and other institutional clients throughout Texas. They are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their Litigation team and manage a diverse caseload involving foreclosure, title clearance, and real estate-related matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys a combination of real estate law, title work, foreclosure litigation, and client interaction and is looking for a role with autonomy, professional growth, and a flexible work environment.

The Associate Attorney will manage both contested and uncontested matters involving residential and commercial properties throughout Texas. The position will focus heavily on title review and curative work, judicial and nonjudicial foreclosure, and related litigation.

The role is remote or hybrid depending on experience and geographic location, with some initial and periodic in-person training required for remote attorneys.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Manage an independent caseload involving foreclosure, eviction, title disputes, HOA/COA matters, and related real estate litigation.
  • Represent mortgage lenders and investors in both routine and contested matters.
  • Appear in court and argue motions as necessary.
  • Develop case strategies and negotiate resolutions.
  • Review loan files, title reports, pleadings, and foreclosure documentation.
  • Conduct detailed title examinations within established turnaround times and identify issues requiring curative action.
  • Develop recommendations for resolving simple and complex title issues and oversee the curative process.
  • Review judicial and nonjudicial foreclosure documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, legal opinions, and other case-related documents.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and resolution.
  • Work closely with clients, attorneys, staff, insurers, vendors, clerks, judges, borrowers, and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in internal and client case-management systems.
  • Manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
What We’re Looking For
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active Texas Bar license and in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of practicing experience; newly licensed attorneys will not be considered.
  • Experience in real estate law, title review/clearance, foreclosure, creditors' rights, or default servicing
  • Experience with Texas foreclosure litigation is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Texas Title Standards and Texas mortgage foreclosure law is a plus.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload and make sound file-level legal decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
  • Professional, client-focused approach with the ability to navigate challenging or adversarial situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
  • Familiarity with case/document management systems is preferred.
  • Experience with client platforms such as BKFS or Tempo is a plus.
Additional Bar Licenses

Attorneys who are licensed in Georgia, Alabama, or Mississippi in addition to Texas will be strongly preferred.
