Job summary

McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLP seeks an Associate Attorney to manage eviction matters in Georgia. You will work with the Evictions & National Evictions Management Group, handling cases and appearing in court across the state.

JOB SUMMARY:

This Associate Attorney position will report directly to the Managing Partner of the firm’s Evictions & National

Evictions Management Group (the “Group”). The attorney will work alongside members of the Group’s support

staff and carry their own caseload across the State of Georgia. The ideal candidate has some experience with

landlord/tenant evictions, but recently barred attorneys as well as recent law school graduates who have taken

the July 2026 bar exam are also encouraged to apply. Additional licensure is any of the States in which MRLP,

LLP has an office or licensure in the State of Louisiana is a plus.

In this position you will need to possess the willingness to work in a team as well as the ability to be self-driven

and work independently whenever needed. You will need to proactively stay abreast of the laws, ordinances, and

general legal landscape affecting landlord and tenants’ rights in the State of Georgia. The individual in this role

must take ownership of their assignment and work-product. Court appearances in the metro-Atlanta area will

be required; additional appearances throughout the State, when necessary. Travel expenses are reimbursed.

Direct communication with clients is expected and required. Respect, teamwork and communication are

**The Associate Attorney role will require three days in office. **

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Handle all aspects of eviction cases in Georgia (predominately in the post-foreclosure space, but some
  • straight landlord/tenant work as well).
  • Attend court hearings (when practical due to geographical location or remote/virtual hearing
  • capabilities) on eviction cases in Georgia.
  • Prepare and review documentation required to be filed for eviction cases in Georgia.
  • Must have strong writing and legal research skills.
  • Ability to think on your feet and quickly shift task-to-task depending on daily needs.
  • Field questions from staff and assist in an affable manner.
  • Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, alerts, bulletins, articles for client notification
  • and compliance purposes.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This job does not require the direct exercise of supervisory responsibilities; however, you are expected to manage a caseload in conjunction with assigned staff as the responsible attorney.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, particularly with respect to landlord/tenant rights a bonus.
  • Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
  • Preference given to applicants with landlord/tenant experience but recently sworn-in attorneys or law graduates who took the July 2026 bar exam will also be considered.
  • Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Must be a motivated self-starter, ability to multi-task, detail-oriented, flexible and personable.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ownership of assigned caseload.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, technology, telephone, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Must have people skills, ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with former borrowers, occupants, clients, legal aid representatives, attorneys, colleagues, real estate agents, property preservation crews, Sheriffs or their Deputies and various outside parties.
  • Must be able to work with others in a congenial and team-oriented manner.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information efficiently.
  • Know when to escape an issue to management.
  • Balance team and individual responsibilities; contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail; look for ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Flexibility and adaptability for fast and high growth potential.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational skills; the position requires the ability to multi-task and be adaptable to continual change.
  • Proficiency in internet research, including WestLaw and/or LexisNexis, is required.
