Indiana Disability Rights (IDR) seeks an Associate Attorney to join our mission-driven team. You will handle a diverse caseload across Civil Rights, Health Care, Employment, and Education, under mentorship from the Legal Director and four Senior Attorneys who are subject-matter experts.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active Indiana bar admission or eligibility after hire.
Interest in disability rights and public interest law.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Strong oral communication and client-facing skills.
Ability to manage a varied caseload independently and with teams.
Willingness to travel across Indiana for hearings and meetings.

Responsibilities

Manage an active caseload across four practice areas.
Represent clients in state and federal courts and in administrative proceedings.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other documents with review from supervisors.
Perform legal research and draft memoranda.
Collaborate with Senior Attorneys on case strategy and issues.
Engage in outreach, publications, and policy comments as assigned.
Develop training materials and participate in community outreach.
