A law firm seeks a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its legal team, focusing on defending individuals facing creditor lawsuits. Duties
- Represent clients in creditor litigation matters, handling cases from inception to resolution.
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies.
- Attend and argue motions, hearings, and other court proceedings as required.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients’ best interests.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, ensuring they are informed throughout the litigation process.
- Collaborate with colleagues to refine case strategies and maintain high standards of legal representation.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in New Jersey (additional state licenses are a plus).
- Experience in civil litigation, with a preference for debtor/creditor or collections-related cases.
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to develop creative legal strategies.
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Active membership in the New Jersey State Bar.
