Job Description
Our client is seeking a talented Junior Associate (1–3 years of experience) to join its accomplished State & Local Tax (SALT) practice in New York. Join a dynamic team serving Fortune 100 and leading industry clients across all areas of SALT controversy, litigation, consulting, planning, and policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda, protests, pleadings, and briefs on SALT issues
- Supporting attorneys in all phases of multistate audits, administrative appeals, litigation, and settlement negotiations
- Advising clients on complex state and local tax planning and transactions
- Participating in practice group meetings, trainings, presentations, and business development initiatives
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; LL.M. in Taxation is preferred but not required
- Admission to the New York Bar, in good standing
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality legal work
- Demonstrated interest in tax law, particularly SALT matters
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a team-focused environment

Compensation
The New York base pay range for this role is $225,000 – $260,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
