Role Description

The Associate Attorney will work on a full-time basis in a hybrid capacity, primarily based in Tampa, FL with flexibility to work from home part of the time. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; conducting legal research; and managing discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests. The role involves appearing in state and federal courts and at administrative proceedings, handling case management tasks, and communicating regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and courts. The Associate Attorney will assist in developing case strategies, negotiating settlements where appropriate, and supporting senior attorneys in hearings, trials, and mediations. The position requires proactive file management, adherence to deadlines, and collaboration with colleagues and staff to provide efficient and thorough client service.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Law with the ability to handle a variety of business and litigation matters.
  • Experience or strong interest in litigation and defending commercial defendants in several areas of the law, including litigating and dispute resolution of commercial transportation cases
  • Ability to provide sound, practical Legal Advice that aligns with clients’ business objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Excellent Research skills, including case law, statutes, regulations, and administrative guidance.
  • Effective Negotiation skills for settlement discussions, mediations, and other dispute-resolution settings.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission).
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills, including clear drafting and confident courtroom presentation.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to collaborative, team-based work and professional, respectful communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Prior litigation experience in state or federal court is preferred; experience with administrative proceedings is a plus.
