Strata Family Law is seeking a new or soon-to-be-new attorney to join our Tacoma office. Recent law school graduates, attorneys awaiting Washington bar results, and newly licensed attorneys are strongly encouraged to apply. Prior family law experience is not required.
This position is designed for a new attorney who wants to learn how to actually practice law—not simply research and review documents. Strata provides hands-on training and mentorship, with increasing responsibility as the associate develops. The associate will learn to manage cases, work directly with clients, draft pleadings and declarations, conduct discovery, negotiate with opposing counsel, prepare for mediation and hearings, appear in court, and ultimately manage their own cases.
We practice family law with a combination of strong advocacy, strategic thinking, preparation, honesty, and emotional intelligence. We are looking for someone who is curious, hardworking, dependable, receptive to feedback, comfortable asking questions, and interested in developing into an excellent lawyer. We can teach family law; we are looking for someone who wants to learn it.
